I'll get a head start on the begging now, LOL! If you guys want to keep the board ad-free it's going to cost. There are ways of reducing the cost (like having people sign up as EZ Supporters, which we will post about soon) but eventually The Man wants his money. You can contribute directly to IO by using the Community Chest function. We've got over 260 members right now... if every active member contributed two dollars, we could keep the boards ad-free for well over two years! I'm going to make a quick contribution right now while I'm thinking of it - if the time comes when each of y'all have an extra couple of bucks to donate, feel free to do so. The $$ in the Community Chest doesn't expire, so it's perfectly fine to donate before we actually need the cash. Thanks IOBers! AQW

Posts: 12614 (07/11/02 10:00:37) IO Crew Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Ok go to the main page (click the Inside O-Town Message Board link at the top Left of Screen) and towards the top of the page, there is a little "Community Chest" - it is a reddish/maroonish color - there you will see a link that says Direct Payment - click it - and it will tell you the different types of payment accepted.

Oh PS - the estimate of what it costs to renew changes all the time...because it is based on the amount of page views over a certain amount of time...and the EZ Supporter accts page views are deducted. For example, yesterday - the current estimated renewal rate for 6 months was $141.00 - BUT today - when I checked it - it had gone up to $156.00!! Yes, that's right - already up $15.00 in one day. So, it is hard to tell now what we will have to pay when it is time to renew. BUT like Adrienne said, there are other ways to help - like getting individual EZsupporter status...and we will tell you more about that option soon!

Since this is my second home, I figured that I should do my part. To others who are thinking about donating, please do. It really is painless. You also can mail in checks or money orders. I know that a lot of the younger IOBers don't have credit cards and checking accounts, so if you used cash to get a money order you could mail it in to EZboard. Just imagine how horrible it would be to have pop-up ads and advertisements all over the board. It would take a lot longer for things to load and it would just be....well...YUCK! Lara
