I put together a little information about the difference between donating to the CC and becoming an EZsupporter - hope this helps to distinguish the two.

Becoming an EZsupporter vs donating to the Community Chest

First of all, BOTH help us tremendously. When you become an Ezsupporter you get all kinds of cool benefits and you also dont cost us ANYTHING when you view/post on our board. However, in order for us to have all the cool features that we get (no ads, custom emoticons, sticky topics, just to name a few Gold Community stuff) we have to pay to have a GOLD Board. There is ALWAYS a base fee to become/remain a GOLD board. The more Ezsupported views, the less the cost goes up but we still need to pay for that service. That is why both becoming an Ezsupporter, and contributing to the Community Chest (which allows us to use the money donated to purchase the GOLD services in 3/6/12 month increments) are very important. In the LONG RUN becoming an Ezsupporter is the BEST for both US and YOU because you get these benefits at EVERY board you visit.. AND it doesnt cost us anything to have you come and play with us (or any board you visit). But, Community chest donations are great too because we will ALWAYS need to renew our services as long as the board stays up.

When you become an Ezsupporter you get the little globe and access to our Golden Globes section of the boardheres more stuff about Ezsupporter:

Ezsupporter
cost: $7 for 6 months or $12 for a year
sees no ads on any board (this only affects YOU, not members of your board)
can use HTML in signature at any board that allows sigs (free boards too)
can customize the profile
can be anonymous in who's online
can link up to 4 accounts to the master account and share supporter benefits
