heyheyhey!
if jake and ashley thought it was embarassing to be recognized doing construction, it's surely a good thing ashley didn't take that other job! i love how in the "bar fight" tiff was all up in that guy's face. even more than ashley! she's such a fighter! gotta love it. ash and tiff are very lucky to have scarlett (spelling?) there to help with lyric!! i hope other viewers aren't considering them "bad" parents though, cuz i know they aren't! just a quick ?: when was the date of jacob's roxy show? sometimes i wonder how much time passes from episode to episode, and since episode 106 had to be around labor day....we could figure it out ~Katrina |

That show at The Roxy was on September 16th. Debbie and I were there. Here is a link to our article, in case you're interested.

It was an interesting episode to say the least. I was a little surprised by Ashley's cursing since well he never seemed like the type that would curse to me before. I don't know why but I just always thought he would be one of those guys who had an issue with cursing but boy did he curse a blue streak at that jerk at the club. That guy that was heckling him was rediculous though, I couldn't believe him.

I loved last nights episode. I especially loved seeing Jackie Salvucci at the club with Ashley. In case you don't remember him, he was one of the final 8 on MTB. I always loved him!

Actually, Jackie didn't make it to the top 8... just top 25.

I know I used the phrase 'nancy boy' at least 3 times today. Compliments of Jake.

Quote:I'm lovin' the Jacob appearances. I loved the way that he said that "nancy boy" phrase. It was hard for the cameras to present to the audience the true vibe of the crowd at The Roxy that night. I have been there a number of times to see Jacob's Loc and I never saw such lunatics. I believe that the presence of the show's camera brought out a few nut cases that wanted to get their few minutes of fame on camera. A few people had been pushing and jockeying to get face time on the camera since Ashley arrived. And maybe the full moon brought out the fight in some. Some simply wanted to start a fight and wouldn't let up. Char |

I haven't seen the episode yet, but is it possible that MTV engineered the incident (without Ashley and Tiffany's knowledge)? Just a thought.

Just saw the episode online, and I have to say it was pretty good! I'm sorry, but I burst out laughing at (1) Ashley throwing the drink into that guy's face (which btw, I would have done the same thing
One thing I didn't get though...was he drunk (cause I think Tiffany was ~Love, Lindsay~ |

Of course, it's still reality in the sense that Ashley's and Tiffany's reactions were real. But the fact that, according to the discussion here, the guy only "slapped" Ashley, makes me think that maybe the idea was to get a reaction with no one really getting hurt.
In any case, it's typical of the way things work nowadays that it would be the innocent party, who was merely defending himself, being punished, rather than the one who started acting out of line. It may after all be that the guy wanted to get himself on the show. In that sense, the cameras had some blame in the trouble--but it's still wrong for Ashley to be the one who has to leave. (Unless that was also part of a setup--for pathos value.) All that said, maybe it was real. I'll have to wait until I see it. I consider myself a good judge of naturalness. On that note, it is understandable that in the first episodes there had to be a bit of scripting and reenacting to establish the situation. For example, I think the scene in the first episode where Tiffany goes over her attitude to O-Town etc., had to be a reenactment of conversations the couple had actually had early in their relationship, before the show was even conceived. It is also understandable that it would seem like less-than-stellar acting, since even great actors normally do not strive for the strict naturalism attempted here. |

i don't know about mtv manufacturing the roxy thing..for 1) on real world they talked about how they were always getting harassed and stuff just because they had cameras following them and people wanted to be on tv and 2) wasn't mtv not even sure they were going to pick up ashley's show?? i mean, i can see them setting up situations if they were trying to make a storyline, but weren't they just getting raw footage of ashley's life and then seeing if they wanted to make a show? maybe i'm wrong about that part, that's just what i thought. ~Katrina

That episode was intense! I felt bad that Ashley got kicked out, but if I was the bar security, I would have kicked both of them out, not just the more noticeable one.
That guy was a jerk, seriously, if you have to go around and harass people who have camera's around them then you have no life, I mean if he was drunk then maybe it was be a bit more believeable but damn, if he wasn't that's just pathetic! I loved hearing South's "Paint The Silence", it's an amazing song. If you follow The OC, it's the song Ryan and Marisa had their first kiss to on the ferris wheel. |

Finally saw the show after several techincal problems. Finding out all your qualified to do is hold a sign would have to suck so much. I can't imagine how embarresing it was for Ashley and Jacob to be noticed on the job. The guy that started the fight was a punk and laughed how Ashley threw his drink at him. Pretty cool that on the street Tiffany was in his face even more than Ashley was. Back at the Vineyard, I got the impression Ashley has done other dumb things before by the look on Jacob's face, like "What did you do now?" It seemed like as the night went on the story got more and more dramatic lol.
