Maybe you should try and invest in a new cord, or i know some camera places like Ritz Camera (there is also chain who is along with Ritz it called something Wolf) and if you give them the memory cards they print out the pictures.

Yeah I was going to say, our photo places in the UK usually have a little machine/booth type thing and you go along with your media card and you can get the pictures made up while you wait. You could maybe look into that?

Quote:BWAH! I'd love to be able to tell you that there's somebody out there you would disagree with you, but I'm not altogether sure such a person exists in my case! Laura PS - ooh, did I tell you that I'm a photographer for my university newspaper now? Had a couple of photos in last week's issue. Incidentally...news photography is boring...stick me in a concert venue photo pit any day rather than send me off to take pictures of (and seriously, this is what I had to take pictures of today for the next issue of the paper) the "Warwick International Manufacturing Centre" - which is...a building... O-Town are so much nicer to photograph. |

Well Shawna wanted to know if the specs of her flash were any good...and I wanted to know why the heck I got red-eye on my O-Town M&G photos but not on my concert photos. The only thing I could think of was that I used my external flash during the concert and just the standard built-in flash on my Rebel during the M&G because there was lots of light from the TV crew that was there...I wondered if somehow my external flash was cleverer and sorted out the red eye thing for me...
So I was just wondering if it was safer to always use the external flash and just give up on the built-in one. Did any of that make sense? Laura |

Well... now you know i am NOOOOOOOOOO expert - but I think i can help you Laura... Adrienne says that she uses her external flash ALL the time.. (unless she is told that she can't use it). So, I am guessing that it is safe to use it all the time.

though... I didn't use my red eye reduction thingy - in my pictures... because it slows something down... the shutter speed or something... anyway - means you can't take as many pictures per minute etc.. because it has to do that extra flashy thing to get rid of the red eye... needless to say.. i got lots of Ash-Red-Demon pictures!~

Ah well you see this is where the Angel's (and the Underwood's and the Miller's for that matter) sparkling blue eyes caused me problems in Cologne you see...and not just in the "*sigh* I can't concentrate" way. Blue eyes are affected more by red-eye anyway. I had practically no problems with Erik-Michael because his eyes are that lovely chocolate brown colour and they weren't affected so much...and Trevor was just never looking up when I took his picture! DOH! So it was just the blue-eyed-boys that I had the problem with. But as I say, only in the M&G when I wasn't using the external flash. I got a fantastic shot of Ashley's eyes in the concert, where they looked exceptionally swoonworthy and perfectly blue.
I'll just stick to the external flash from now on, I think! Laura |

I think that would be the best bet. Blue eyes are always a pain in the butt to photograph. But yet blue eyes are so sexy on a certain Ashley, Dan and Jacob

Shawna... I didn't see a question from you! I see the specs you listed... so what's the question? LOL Are you asking if it's a good deal, or if you should buy it, or if it's compatible with your camera... what, Woman? If you want a question answered, well, then, ASK a question!
And yes, I always-always-ALWAYS use my external flash unless it's not permitted... even when shooting Dexter running around outdoors in bright light. I'm a big fan of fill flash. Shawnee, shutter speed is a toss-up during shows... it depends completely on the lighting conditions. Light is usually pretty bad, so you want the shutter open as long as possible... but there's so much movement, you need a fairly quick shutter speed. It's a wonder we EVER get a shot in focus! AQW

Hey everyone! Okay, here is my situation. For a while, I have wanted to get my own camera. I was thinking about a digital, but then I read some of your posts about developing costs and also was worried about the picture quality. Then I went on Canon.com (because people seemed to like them, and that was the company I was looking at for a digital) I just want a point and shoot, fully automatic because my mom's manual camera (she has two, one manual from like 1970
Another reason I like this camera is because it has a 4.2x zoom lens, and I don't always have the best seats for O-events. I mean they're good, but not first row like the IO mods always get *Kristen* http://silent-reflection.cjb.net |

I'm a big fan of the Canon line. I decided against a SureShot and instead got an Olympus Stylus for my point and shoot... I was happy with it for several months, but it has started acting up and now I'm wishing I'd bought the Canon.
The SureShot line has been around for decades and is very reliable. I'd bet good money you'll be happy with that camera... but Kristen, don't pay $220 for it! I found it at www.digitalfotoclub.com for less than $180... click here. This is a GREAT site for cameras, accessories, film, you name it - many thanks to IO Heather for turning me on to it! AQW |
